Newly installed Antoa Zongo Chief pledges unity and development

The newly installed Zongo Chief (Sarkin Zongo) for the Antoa Community in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Alhaji Salim Mamma Raje, has pledged to promote peace, unity, and development within the community.

Alhaji Salim Mamma Raje, who was installed by the Chief of Antoa, Nana Kwaku Ware III, emphasized the need for harmonious relations between Muslims and Christians to foster collective support for the development of the Antoa community.

He noted that the time has come for residents to put aside their differences and unite behind a common development agenda.

According to him, peace and unity form the backbone of development in any community, and all residents must work together to support the Chief of Antoa and his opinion leaders in driving progress.

Alhaji Mamma Raje disclosed that his primary focus will be on education and youth empowerment, describing the youth as the future leaders of the community.

He stated, “I will thank God for this day, and I thank the Chief of Antoa for this honour he has done to me. I would like to call on all community members to come together, no matter their religion or tribe. We need to unite and support the Chief of Antoa so there can be development in the community.”

He further stressed the need for both secular and Islamic educational facilities, as well as mosques, to help train and guide the youth and younger ones in the Zongo community.

Alhaji Raje added, “I am committed to pursuing these efforts in building more educational facilities to help secure the future of our youth, to get them all in school and not always loitering when it is time for them to be in the classrooms.”

The Zongo Chief also raised concerns about the increasing focus on residential development without adequate provision for cemeteries.

He noted that although a cemetery exists in the Antoa community, there must be a conscious effort to maintain and improve it to give it a befitting appearance at all times.

He pledged his full support to the Chief of Antoa, traditional authorities, and opinion leaders to ensure peace, stability, and development in the community.

Alhaji Mamma Raje further assured community members that his doors remain open to all suggestions and advice, as he works to effectively steer the affairs of the Zongo community while contributing to the overall development of Antoa.
