Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has sounded off on his team after a heavy loss to the Houston Rockets in the NBA’s marquee Christmas Day Games.
The Lakers lost 96-119 to the Rockets at the Crypto Center in Los Angeles with Kevin Durant and Amen Thompson leading the way for the Rockets with 26 and 25 points respectively.
Luka Doncic and LeBron James scored 25 points and 18 points in the loss and in his post-game presser, Redick exploded on his team for their lack of desire stating according to ESPN that,
“We don’t care enough right now and that’s the part that bothers you a lot. We don’t care enough to do the things that are necessary. We don’t care enough to be a professional.”

“The two words of the day were effort and execution and I feel like when we’ve done both of those things at a high level, we’ve been a good basketball team. When we haven’t, we’re a terrible basketball team. And tonight we were a terrible basketball team”.

The Lakers rank fourth in the Western Conference standings with 19 wins and 10 losses while the Rockets improve their record to 18 wins and 10 losses to rank sixth.
