The Base Commander of the Air Force Base in Tamale and the 6 Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi, has reaffirmed the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Northern Ghana in 2026 and beyond.
Speaking during the Inter-Wing Games, part of the Air Force Base West Africa Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) in Tamale on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi urged personnel to remain vigilant, citing the volatile security situation in parts of the region.
“For us in the military, we are ready. We say we are ready in the sense that we are the gatekeepers of security. You will agree with me that this part of the country is still volatile. My men should stay focused and united. No enemy is too strong for us,” he said.
Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi also appealed to residents to support the security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help safeguard their communities.
“For the people of the North, all we want is peace, and we are here to let them get the peace that they need. So they should also help us to achieve our mandate.
“You will agree with me that a large part of our personnel comes from all parts of the country, and not only the Northern Region.
“But we are all here to maintain peace. So they should collaborate with us and also volunteer information to us so that we can use that to achieve peace in the communities,” he added.
