New Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has given fans a first insight into how he plans to lead the club, describing himself as “demanding, honest and caring.”
Rosenior, who signed a six-year contract with the Blues following the sacking of Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day, said his focus is simple: winning.
Speaking to the Club’s media he says winning will not come from him but rather every one in the club
I care about my team, I care about my players, I care about my staff. I’m meticulous, organised, and I have a clear idea of the way I want the game to be played

“I want to be remembered as a winning coach ; consistently winning. That doesn’t come from just me. It’s the club, it’s the players, it’s the staff.”
He added that creating the right environment is key to success.
“My job is to create an atmosphere where people enjoy what they do. If you enjoy what you do, you perform better. And if you perform better, you end up winning games of football.

Rosenior emphasised that success at Chelsea will not be about him alone:
If we are successful, it won’t all be about me. But my job is to make sure we’re organised, committed, determined, and put pride into the shirt. Do that, and normally, you win games of football.
The new Chelsea boss will take charge of his first game this Saturday, January 10, 2026, in an FA Cup tie against Charlton Athletic at The Valley, with kick-off set for 8:00 PM.
