Wilfried Nancy has been sacked by Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Celtic in shocking fashion with the French coach having taken up the position just 33 days ago.
On a day that had Manchester United sack Portuguese head coach Ruben Amorim, Celtic made the announcement that highlights a tumultuous campaign that has had Brendan Rodgers resign while former coach Martin O’Neill served on an interim basis before the appointment of Nancy.
However, Nancy’s appointment failed to turn the club’s fortunes around as Celtic won just two games out eight before 48 year old Nancy was sacked.
His last game in charge of Celtic was in the Old Firm Derby against bitter rivals Rangers that had Celtic lost 3-1 at home.
“The Club thanks Wilfried for his efforts and wishes him and his family well for the future.”

“The Club can also confirm that Paul Tisdale has left his position as Head of Football Operations” a section of the club’s statement read.

Celtic rank second in the Scottish League with 38 points tied on the same points as Rangers. Hearts lead the standings with 44 points.

Nancy won the MLS Cup in 2023 with Columbus Crew and in 2024, he got Crew to finish second in the CONCACAF Champions Cup while winning the MLS Coach of the Year in 2024.
