Chelsea FC head coach Enzo Maresca has pinned a series of substitutions made by Aston Villa as the incident that changed the dynamics of the clash involving the teams that was played out at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues took the game’s lead through Joao Pedro in the 37th minute but conceded twice in the second half through substitute Ollie Watkins to clinch the big win.
After bagging a brace in the win over Chelsea, Ollie Watkins credited Villa manager Unai Emery for his tactical brilliance in turning the game around and Maresca alluded to this in his post-game statement to the club’s media stating, (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“I think for one hour, until we conceded, we dominated the game. We were very good.”

“Unfortunately, after that, the dynamic of the game changed a little bit. I think by the time they scored to make it 1-1, we should have scored two or three more.”

“Yeah it-the substitutions- changed the dynamic. Again, the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second half we should have scored more goals.”

Chelsea take on AFC Bournemouth next on Tuesday, December 30.
