2025 AFCON: No one is trying to shine individually; We are Together- Amad Diallo

Manchester United are going through another coaching crisis after making another head coaching change but the club’s winger Amad Diallo continues to light up the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Diallo picked up his third Man of the Match Award after leading Cote D’Ivoire to a 3-0 win over Burkina Faso in the round of 16 stage after scoring a goal and assisting Yan Diomande’s goal for the Ivorians’ second. In three starts for the Elephants, Diallo has picked up three Man of the Match Awards.

The win sets up a quarterfinal clash between Cote D’Ivoire and Egypt but reflecting on the win over Burkina Faso, Diallo praised the collective direction of the team to CAF by stating,

“We fought together as a team. Everyone is focused on contributing in whatever way they can. There is also a real chemistry on the pitch, a closeness between us that makes our play more fluid.”

“There is a genuine connection, a certain rhythm in the way we play. No one is trying to be the hero or to shine individually for the country. If I have the chance to make the pass, I do it. It’s instinctive; I give him the ball. That’s how we play.”
