Interim head coach of Manchester United Darren Fletcher says he is hoping for the team to represent him and the club in a whole under his watch.
He said this in his first press conference after taking over the head coaching role following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim after a bad run of results and a fall out with the club’s head of football operations Jason Wilcox.
Man United take on lowly ranked Burnley FC on Wednesday, January 8 in a league clash after dropping points to similar low ranked teams including drawing 1-1 with Wolves and picking up a 1-1 draw with Leeds United.
Fletcher is expected to be in charge till the end of the season before a permanent manager is appointed in the offseason and Fletcher wants his team to represent him.
“Well, hopefully it looks like a Manchester United team that represents a bit of me and what I know as Manchester United.”

“I hope it represents a Manchester United team that fans can be proud of, that I can be proud of, and I’m sure they will because I believe in the players.”

“It’s about them. It’s not about me. It’s their season, their careers, their opportunity…So I want to give them some responsibility to go and do that” Fletcher said to the club’s media.
