Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins says it is a great feeling to score twice against Chelsea and aid his team bag an important win.
Villa beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to record the club’s 11th win in a row and stay put in third place at in the league standings.
Watkins run on to meet a pass and stroked it past Robert Sanchez in the 63rd minute for the equalizer before powering a header off Youri Tielemans corner kick for the win in the 84th minute.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, Watkins took the time to praise Villa manager Unai Emery for his tactical tweaks that changed the game in the second half.
“An amazing win. For me personally to come on and score two goals is a great feeling – but to keep up this run and come here, a tough place, and beat Chelsea is amazing.”

“I haven’t been where I want to be but I can use this as a marker to push on for the end of the season.”

“He-Unai Emery-changed it because Chelsea were going man for man but they had the extra centre-back when we were going long. When I came on in the second half he brought Jadon Sancho and Morgan Rogers on the wing and put Youri Tielemans in the No 10 – so we had an extra man in there. He’s a tactical genius.”

Villa next take on Arsenal on December 30.
