Multiple reports have indicated that Manchester City have stepped up their interest in signing Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth in January 2026.
The 25 year old Black Stars player has a 65 million pounds release clause that is valid for 10 days in the early part of January next year.
However, the price tag drops to a reported range for 40-45 million pounds once the 2025-2026 season concludes and this situation coupled with his fine performance, has attracted multiple clubs.
Semenyo has eight goals and three assists (11 goal contributions in 16 league games) and Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs got linked to a possible transfer.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano has provided an updated reported on the situation indicating that Chelsea, Tottenham and Man United have cooled their interest in Semenyo.

Liverpool on the other hand, are still monitoring the situation as the club deals with the news of Alexander Isak’s broken leg, that rules Isak out for at least two months, playing a role.

According to the Italian transfer expert, Man City, through its Sporting Director Hugo Viana, have made direct contact with Semenyo’s camp regarding a possible move.
🚨🔵 Manchester City and Bournemouth will be in direct contact this week for Antoine Semenyo.

Romano added that both clubs- Man City and Bournemouth- will be involved directly over the issue later this week; Fellow transfer expert David Ornstein confirm Man City’s advanced interest in Semenyo.
🚨 EXCL: Antoine Semenyo preference is to join Man City in January. Nothing formal until market opens but #AFCB attacker favours #MCFC. Man Utd pushed hard + never planned to use 25yo at wing-back but winter switch was always tough for #MUFC @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/kYWFB2zfzI
