The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that two pupils lost their lives and 28 others were injured following a bee attack at Anloga E.P. Basic School in the Volta Region.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and affected five teachers, three school feeding cooks, and twenty-two learners.

In a statement released on December 19, the GES Management expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured victims. The Service commended teachers, officials of the Ghana National Fire Service, and community members whose swift intervention helped manage the situation.

GES is collaborating with the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the District Chief Executive to eliminate the bee habitat and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
