BIG 7 Records, in collaboration with SomeWhere New, has officially announced the maiden edition of the Kumasi Dance Fest, a three-day event aimed at celebrating dance culture, creativity, and community engagement in the Ashanti Regional capital.
The festival is scheduled to run from January 1 to January 3, 2026, with activities carefully curated to blend social responsibility, entertainment, and talent development.
Day One: Community Clean-Up Exercise
The event will kick off on January 1, 2026, with a community clean-up exercise starting from Kings College Senior High School.
Organisers say the exercise will begin promptly at 6:00 a.m. This is to encourage dancers, creatives, and community members to give back to society by promoting environmental cleanliness.
Day Two: Match With the Stars
The second day of the festival will feature a highly anticipated “Match With the Stars,” bringing together popular dancers, content creators, and representatives from various media houses for a friendly football encounter.
The activity is expected to foster unity and collaboration among creatives in the entertainment and media space.
Day Three: Dance on the Pitch
The final day, dubbed “Dance on the Pitch,” will also take place at Kings College SHS. It will feature freestyle dance battles, energetic performances, and showcases from some of Ghana’s most exciting dance talents.
Several well-known figures in the dance and creative industry have been billed to appear at the event, including Alo Madjoa, Mr Katah, Mr Amprah, 39-40, and many others.
The Kumasi Dance Fest also has media support from with GHPage, YFM, GH Poster, and several other platforms coming on board as media sponsors.
Organisers say the festival is designed not only to entertain but also to nurture talent, promote positive youth engagement, and position Kumasi as a hub for dance and creative expression in Ghana.
