2025 AFCON: Lookman-Osimhen Clash will stay in the Group- Nigeria Head Coach [VIDEO]

Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle says he will address the highly charged verbal clash between Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen in the Super Eagles 2025 AFCON game against Mozambique privately.

Lookman and Osimhen starred in Nigeria’s 4-0 demolition of Mozambique in the round of 16 stage game to qualify to the quarterfinals where the Super Eagles are billed to face either DR Congo or Algeria.

Nigeria’s front three of Lookman, Osimhen and Akor Adams scored in the win with Osimhen grabbing a brace and Adams and Lookman registering an assist in the game. However, the win was overshadowed by Osimhen’s intense but brief clash with Lookman during an argument in the 63rd minute with Nigeria leading 3-0.

Ademola Lookman downplayed the incident after the game but Chelle indicated that the matter would be addressed privately. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“What happened on the pitch will stay in the group. I don’t need to tell you what happened or what will happen. I will keep that for me [to myself] and everything that happens in the life of a group, will stay in the life of the group so we will see after and we will talk” Chelle said while addressing the incident.
